Full-mouth implant treatment can feel overwhelming. Here are the answers to the questions patients ask most, from our clinical team. If your question is not here, our patient coordinators will be happy to help — over text or a phone call.
They replace a complete upper arch, lower arch, or both arches of teeth using dental implants and a fixed bridge. They are a fixed solution — not removed at night like dentures — and the treatment is planned as one complete system, taking into account your bite, chewing, speech, facial support, appearance and long-term oral health.
Your assessment lasts around 60 to 90 minutes. You will spend time with the New Life Teeth team, including a full-jaw implant surgeon, with a review of your medical history and a clinical examination. You will also receive 3D CBCT scans, intra-oral scans, clinical photographs, and a bite and jaw assessment. Afterwards, you will meet a Treatment Coordinator who will explain the next steps.
Yes. You will leave the clinic with a fixed set of temporary PMMA teeth, full aftercare instructions, a direct emergency contact number, and arranged support for your journey home. Some patients may require a longer healing period before fixed teeth are fitted — based on implant stability, bone quality and your individual assessment.
You will receive IV sedation as part of your treatment plan, delivered by an experienced anaesthesia team, in a private patient suite. The surgical stage typically takes around two to three hours.
A set of trial PMMA teeth that closely replicate the planned shape, position, bite and function of your final teeth. You wear them in everyday life so you can speak, eat and smile with the planned design before anything final is made. Your feedback at this stage shapes the final result.
At two weeks, the team checks your implant and gum healing, swelling, comfort and bite. At around six weeks, the focus turns to long-term care, and you will receive detailed hygiene guidance and a water flosser.
Being told your case is difficult does not always mean you have no options. Many patients come to New Life Teeth after being told they do not have enough bone, that they need extensive grafting, or that dentures are their only choice. A previous opinion may reflect the treatment options available within that particular clinic.
For suitable complex cases, New Life Teeth uses advanced techniques, including zygomatic and pterygoid implants, which can provide options where conventional placement is not the correct route.
Zygomatic implants are longer implants placed into the strong bone of the cheekbone. Pterygoid implants are placed into dense bone at the back of the upper jaw. These advanced techniques can also reduce the need for extensive grafting or sinus lift procedures in some cases.
A history of gum disease does not automatically prevent full-arch implant treatment. However, it must be controlled and included in your treatment plan.
Long-term denture wear can lead to bone loss and changes in jaw shape, bite and facial support. Your treatment plan will focus not only on implant placement but also on restoring a stable bite, facial and lip support, and day-to-day function.
Conditions such as diabetes, osteoporosis, autoimmune conditions and a history of cancer treatment require careful assessment, but they do not automatically prevent treatment. Your surgeon will work with your GP or wider medical team where required.
Age alone does not decide whether you are suitable. The assessment is based on your clinical condition, not simply your age.
Prettau Zirconia, a high-strength ceramic used for full-arch implant restorations, produced by Zirkonzahn. It is designed around your trial teeth, your bite, your speech, your facial proportions and your treatment goals.
No. A highly translucent zirconia may suit a single crown, but a full-arch bridge has greater functional demands. New Life Teeth selects Prettau Zirconia and uses it in a monolithic design, milled from a single solid piece to reduce potential weak points.
No. PMMA is a softer material than ceramic, so over time it is more likely to show wear, staining and surface roughness — but that does not make it poor quality. It is easily adjusted and repaired, which makes it a valuable part of the process while your final smile is being developed.
Yes. During the trial review stage you will choose the shade of your final teeth from 19 available options. The aim is not the whitest possible teeth, but a shade that looks balanced and natural for you.
New Life Teeth does not use a one-size-fits-all approach to smile design. The purpose is to create teeth that look like they belong to you.
Clinical research does not show that zirconia bridges cause increased bone loss simply because the material is hard. All ceramic materials must be designed, manufactured and fitted correctly — the question is not whether any material can ever fracture, but whether it is appropriate for the demands of a full-arch bridge. Your bridge is also protected by a 15-year mechanical warranty.
Yes. Dental implants are not a fit-and-forget treatment. Your long-term success depends on daily home cleaning, professional hygiene care, and regular clinical reviews.
You will receive detailed hygiene guidance and a water flosser. The smooth surface of Prettau Zirconia supports effective cleaning, but it does not remove the need for a consistent daily routine.
The quality of treatment is not measured only on the day your teeth are fitted, but by how well they function over time. Longevity depends on implant health, daily hygiene, your bite, bridge design and fit, and regular professional maintenance — which is why your 15-year mechanical warranty is paired with a structured aftercare programme.

If you notice bleeding or swelling around the gums or implants, persistent soreness, a change in your bite, difficulty chewing or speaking, a feeling that the bridge has moved, or any damaged or rough area on the bridge. You are not expected to manage the process alone.
